I’m pleased to report that our recent collaboration with the International Parking Institute resulted in a very successful webinar that focused on the “Fundamentals” of the parking industry. The “Fundamentals” series is targeted for front line personnel - particularly those new to the industry - to develop an understanding of the parking industry, including terminology, equipment and common management strategies. The concept is to develop a workforce that understands the business of parking and transportation, so they can serve as ambassadors for your operation. The first webinar was presented by Dennis Burns of Kimley-Horn Associates in October 2011. Additional webinars in the “Fundamentals” series are being developed that will cover topics such as enforcement and customer service. Stay tuned for further details!
Nashville, Tenn., will be the site of the 2012 MSTPA annual conference! The conference will be held at the downtown Sheraton on March 12-14, 2012. We have an exciting slate of educational sessions planned, focusing on the role of parking and transportation in university and institutional settings, in downtown (re)development and in the partnerships necessary between universities and municipalities. MSTPA 2012 promises to be an excellent conference and a great value. Register online today!
